Padi offers a wide range of opportunities in the corporate and nonprofit world. We work with students, universities and organizations to match interests, needs and goals.
Padi works to identify and offer internships in all sectors of the public, private and non-profit worlds. It is particularly strong in facilitating opportunities in the fields of impact assessment, social enterprise, community development, eduction, health, marketing, strategic consulting, refugees, and women.
Some of the descriptions below are more specific than others. In all cases, scope of work and project description are worked out following discussions between the interns and their mentors. Many fellowships are open to more than one applicant.

ABOUT PADI
Human Rights/ LGBT/ Water Rights
2021 internships focus on environment and human rights throughout Indonesia.
​
You can support and learn from the work of groups active in forest rights, women's rights, water rights, LGBT, human rights, and legal rights in Kalimantan and other regions, including Papua. Papua is the largest and easternmost province of Indonesia, home to a number of indigenous tribes, languages and uniquely rich biodiversity.
Students interested in working on particular issues are invited to inquire about specific opportunities and organizations. Depending on the student's interest, work could center on capacity and leadership building for local human rights groups, partnerships, social media and outreach, and research on best practices in other regions in the world where local activist groups work on similar issues.

Duithape is a social for profit Fintech startup providing financial services to the bottom of the pyramid. Its mission is to create value and transform lives by providing great digital financial services that helps people and makes life easier. As a mobile online platform, Dhithape facilitates financial transaction for 80% of the Indonesian population who are still unbanked. In addition to urban centers, it aims to reach deep rural areas that has not yet been covered by banking services.

Students interested in public health, management consulting, organizational development and health systmes could work on impact measurement, research and others.

ZERO STUNTING BY 2030

The mission of the 1000 Days Fund is to deliver a national, scalable solution for two pressing issues transforming in-home access to information, and providing critical training for village health volunteers.
Essentially, 1000 Days installs height charts in homes and communities and works in close partnership with local government officials and local NGOs to build capacity and strengthen health systems. They co-create six-month plans with the local health workers on the ground in each village.

Finance
TUK highlights the role that finance plays in enabling tropical deforestation. It is part of a coalition of research organizations and policy groups that collectively seek to achieve improved financial sector policies and systems. Its main goal is to create an environment that supports responsible environmental practices and makes it harder for environmental and socially irresponsible projects and companies to obtain finance.

Story-telling
Taman Baccan Pelangi translates into English as the Rainbow Reading Library. It is a the premier NGO in Indonesia working to bring children's books to all corners of Indonesia, by establishing libraries and providing access to quality books. It has established 123 libraries, trained close to 2000 teachers and delivered more than 200,000 books. It is a story of great promise and success.

The Rainbow Reading Library is looking for motivated interns to work on social media, photography and storytelling relating to the works of the organization.
Eco-Tourism/
Climate Change
This internship takes place on one of the most beautiful islands in Indonesia, in Central Sulawesi. It is part of the University of Indonesia Climate Change program which supports the development of eco tourism in part of the country. There is a need for interns to teach indigenous people photography as a way of story telling.

Social Progress
Campaign.com is a platform that connects individuals, communities, and sponsors who care about social issues. The Campaign.com team has partnered with over 100 organizations to conceptualize and collaborate on public awareness campaigns that focus on environmental, equality and educational issues. It is looking for driven and socially minded people with skills in public relations and impact analysis.

Refugees
Indonesia is the home of about 40,000 refugees mostly from the Middle East who have UNHCR status. HELP is a refugee led organization, which works to prepare young refugees for further education and refugee adults for working life after resettlement. HELP mainly works on providing free informal education, workshops, health check-ups and more.
